Changing the color of 304 or 316 Stainless Steel

I provide components for a multi-sliding door system. Can a 304 type stainless steel that is roll formed into a track sill cover cap be treated through heat or chemicals other than painting to make it a different color other than the typical stainless steel look. It would have to be durable and have a preferred black or brownish in color look. This track would have heavy doors with stainless steel wheels rolling on it. The Finish could be exposed to ocean salt air.

Stainless steel black oxide with an acrylic or urethane type seal should work. Corrosion protection is primarily from the base material.
