ETDA lab problem
My name is Donnie and I am taking analytical chem
We are doing our last lab and my task is to separate the copper out of a dime and give the percent copper in the dime. I am looking for a way to mask the nickel or separate the nickel ions out of solution. I thought about trying hno3 to dissolve the dime into solution. is there a better way of getting the dime into a solution?

If my memory serves me correctly >
Dissolve in H3NO4
burn off NO3 This leaves the oxides --
Precipitate Cu w sulfide
Burn off and weigh
