Need a test for Cobalt in Hard Gold deposits
I am the chemist at a small plating shop that does Gold/Cobalt Hard Gold plating. A customer has recently inquired about whether or not we can test our hard gold deposits for Cobalt content. I can test our baths for Cobalt with our AA Spectrometer ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] , but after many searches of the Internet, I am at a loss to find any method of any kind for testing a plated deposit for Cobalt. I was hoping someone might know of such a method? Some sort of dissolution test with Aqua Regia or a cyanide strip that would allow me to use the AA would be especially helpful.
