Nickel-Teflon Plating
I am interested in electroless nickel plating in which a colloidal teflon is co-deposited in the outer layer. I'm particularly interested if there is an industry specification such as AMS or ASTM that covers this process. Currently we are bound to a company spec with only 2 approved suppliers that are expensive. We are looking for something equivalent in performance, has numerous qualified suppliers, at more competitive prices. We are plating 17-4PH stainless steel parts.

Unfortunately for users like yourselves, nickel-teflon is still high tech and too new to be found around the corner. That is why very little information is available and specs are directed to qualified suppliers. Keep searching and be patient.

Electroless Nickel composite coatings with Teflon, silicon carbide, diamond, boron, and other materials can be applied to all metallic surfaces. Care must be taken to monitor the tanks and make the appropriate additions of additives. (We are a company with 9 years experience with composite plating).
