Nickel Acetate - What is my percentage (weight / volume)
2004
If I were to prepare an aluminum anodizing sealing bath, utilizing 5 grams of Nickel Acetate to 1 liter of distilled water, what would the end result of my solution be (both in a weight percentage and a volume percentage of nickel acetate)
For example, I know that 165.3 grams of 66 baumé sulfuric acid in 1 liter of distilled water will result in a solution of 15% sulfuric acid (by weight) and 9.3% sulfuric acid (by volume).

Something like a home brew seal will be a wt/vol for nearly every application. You can not use a vol to vol because that would have to take into account the air spaces between individual grains of the acetate which will vary by grain size and packing. To a certain extent, how much water is attached to the crystals (it is hygroscopic).
