Electrical Insulating Paint
I want to paint a metal block with an insulating type paint, this block is located in a die and when swarf material gets caught between it and another block a circuit is created which makes the pressing machine think that there is a product is position thus operating the machine at all times. At the moment I am getting the blocks powder coated as it works as an excellent insulator but this process is very expensive, I would like an alternative method of coating preferably some type of paint with non metallic properties

Hi. I would not trust paint or most powder coatings as an insulator in a critical application, but if you are just reducing a nuisance, it can be fine.
The general reason that powder coating is doing a better job for you than paint is probably the fact that powder coatings are generally thicker than paint. Powder coating is not an expensive process, but you may be encountering a minimum lot size charge, or the shop may be investing in very good pretreatment.

Hi,
One of our customers / users is asking about a 2 part Epoxy Insulating Paint of industrial grade. Are there any criterion that should cover in recommending this type of coating such as : temperature resistance or thermal insulation, dielectric strength, chemical resistance etc.? And can you recommend where we can get this type of product?
Thank you for your reply.
