Gold coating on aluminum without any intermediate metals
2004
I would like to have a gold coating of ~2micron on a 5 micron aluminum foil without any intermediate buffer (like nickel etc.,). Is this possible?
What is the best method. are there any suppliers of this coated foils?

What you are asking for is not going to be available from your local plater and my guess is that it would be non functional in a real world set up. It is possible that you might be able to get a physical vapor deposition to work as they have some exotic cleaning and prep methods. I think that you could probably go to a low alloy of gold foil and forget the aluminum for nearly the same price.
