Plating die cast with silver nitrate

I am wondering if there is anybody that knows how to plate die cast or pot metal by using silver nitrate, and what the process is to polish and buff it.

Sorry, never heard of such a process.

You can deposit silver using a silver nitrate solution. It is an electroless deposit. It is used for decorative purposes and as an undercoat prior to electroplating. The "art" of mirror making is an example of this method.
