Silver-coating pens for copper rivets
We need a low cost method to manufacture bi-metal rivets for electrical industry particularly for assembly lines of relays and contractors. Copper rivets having round head from 3 mm to 8 mm of length up to 10 mm. Can a heavy duty silver plating pen classified as micro metalliser manufactured by Hunter products USA. WILL ONE MANUAL TOUCH WILL BE SUFFICIENT TO GIVE THE REQUIRED SILVER COAT TO ABSORB electric CURRENT . PLEASE SUGGEST A MINI FEED VIBRATOR TO AUTOMATE THE SILVER COATING ON THE RIVETS MANUFACTURED ON A HEADER IN THE PHASE ONE.

I am not familiar with the product that you mention, but selective, or brush, or tampon or pen plating normally requires several pens with different chemicals in each and is labor intensive. I would check with vendors that sell mechanical plating equipment. This is a vibratory with an appropriate metal powder an balls that literally pound the metal into the surface of your part. silver is not a common metal that is applied in this process, but if the appropriate powder can be obtained, it should work and is a lot less regulated than wet plating is. Probably the biggest problem is keeping the silver powder from being stolen by employees a few grams a day. (fact of life in precious metal plating shops)

I doubt that a brush plate as you describe will put enough silver on the part to qualify it as silver plated. I also do not think that you can do this application in-line with the heading machine because of the cleanliness required and the speed of deposition required.

YOUR REQUIREMENT OF HEAVY METAL COATING BY BRUSH/PENCIL PLATING WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE. HOWEVER THERE ARE OTHER PROCESSES WHICH WILL PLATE SILVER TO HIGHER LAYER THICKNESS REQUIREMENTS
