Blast media for stainless bars that leave no iron deposits

WE CURRENTLY USE A SOFT STEEL SHOT TO BLAST SS. BARS. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS THE STEEL SHOT IS LEAVING AN IRON DEPOSIT ON OUR STAINLESS BARS, CAUSING THEM TO FAIL CORROSION TESTS. THIS IS A HIGH PRIORITY ISSUE WITH OUR COMPANY, AND FINDING A NEW MEDIA THAT WILL WORK IN OUR BLAST MACHINES FOR THIS PURPOSE.

THANK YOU!

I think that someone makes stainless steel shot. Glass breaks down fast so is probably not cost effective.

You should also be aware of the pass through semi-automated systems similar to wire drawing; however, you use power brushes.

You may want to consider using Stainless Steel cut Wire Shot. The hardness generally ranges between 52-58 Rc. The use of this media will eliminate Ferrous contamination from your cleaning process.
