Steel Coil Degreasing

2004

Dear Sir,

I am from "Steel Drum Manufacturing Industry". We use Cold Rolled Steel Coils (80 to 120 mg/m2 DOSA OIL COATED )for manufacturing these drums.

Coils from most of the Asian Steel Mills come with more oil Coating, which is not suitable for direct painting. Could you please advise me how these coils can be degreased/is there any Coil degreasing Machinery /facility available in the market.

Thanks and Regards,

Sir, coil degreasing equipment is commercially available. The typical process uses an alkaline spray cleaning stage followed by one or two rinse stages and heated air drying. Squeegee rolls are used to keep the liquid within the spray stages.
