I'm doing a book for a 3rd grader about copper

I would like to know how common is copper in nature, how you make pure samples of copper, and the common uses for the element.

If you take a look in Uorganisk Kjemi written by Per Kofstad, You'll find that the content of copper is 70 ppm and 50 % of the copperproduction is used for powerlines. Second important use is pipeline in houses.

I did a Google search and the first hit was www.copper.org and here's a link to copper and the environment: https://www.copper.org/environment/homepage.html
