Zinc plate color callout
Does the print callout "Zinc plate per ASTM B633, Type II, Class Fe/Zn 5 (.0002" Thick)" reference to a color? Perhaps the "Class Fe/Zn 5" is a color specification(?). The Base metal is 1018 CRS.
Thank you.

If you will be quoting zinc plating specs you should purchase the ASTM spec or contact a zinc plating company. FE/Zinc means zinc electroplate over steel, Type II could be yellow or black dichromate, or olive drab dichromate. Yellow is most common, black second, olive drab next. It will be one of these three finishes.

Type I Zinc is no supplementry treatment
Type II Zinc is a colored supplementry treatment specified by you.
Type III is a clear supplementary treatment.

The 5 refers to 5 microns zinc thickness. The Fe/Zn should be self explanatory.
