Buffing Problems

2004

I am facing a problem of uneven buffing in the Buffing Shop. We carry out buffing (manual operation) of our component made of Aluminium, ADC 6. The surface is observed to be wavy and has scratches. This component is then powder coated using P.P.Satin powder. The inspection process is visual and very subjective for buffing (after powder coating).

The component thickness is not more than 14mm and buffing length is not more than 50mm. Can you please suggest me some method to overcome this problem. The powder cannot be changed as it is our customers requirement, however you can help me with the buffing operation itself i.e. wheel type and specification or automation in buffing operation.

Regards,

Dear Mr Mutha,

You need to use a rubber wheel type belt- polisher which will not change the profile of the aluminium. Regular buffing machines won't work.
