Shiny finished vs. satin finished stainless flatware

Shiny finished stainless steel flatware vs. satin finished stainless flatware (18/8 and 18/10)

I am in the market to purchase new flatware for every day use and to be washed in the dishwasher frequently. I have looked for reviews on the "wear and tear" of the 2 different finished and am coming up review-less. Which one would hold up better in the dishwasher and not showing scratches, etc. Do you have any thoughts, information or opinions? Thank you so much in advance for any help you can offer!

A. I read that that polished holds up better than satin finish for wear and tear. Apparently the satin finish permeates the metal so makes it more prone to staining.
