Medical parts supplier wants chrome-like finish on mag
I have a medical device that has mag parts that need a cosmetic and conductive finish. We are having issues with nickel, finger prints mostly. I would like to explore Chrome. We would also like to sell our device in Europe but I was told that Chrome is a show stopper there. Anyone know anything about regulatory issues using chrome in the EU? What is the best chrome finish that does not need post polishing?

I'm not sure about the regulatory issues of chrome in the EU but have you tried The Electrolizing Corporation of Ohio? They advertise a chrome finish for the medical industry they call "Medcoat 2000"

You should consider a fine sand blasting and Cr PVD on top We do this for other medical instroments.Cr PVD will have no regulatory issues in EU.
