Function of Rectifier




I am a service engineer in process automation and just want to know the exact function of rectifier, technical definition and etc. because I am a Mechanical engr.

To drive the electroplating process, a high-current, low-voltage, regulated source of DC power is required. That's the "power supply". In electroplating jargon, we tend to call it a "rectifier" because the most basic aspect of it is rectifying the AC input to DC output.

Hello...

I agree(Of Course) Mr Mooney. But I add something. I think one of the most important features for rectifier, RIPPLE adjustment.Especially for chrome baths this value must be % +-1-5. If this rate getting decrease, coatings quality will decrease and occur some electrical problems.

RECTIFIER IS VERY IMPORTANT IN THE ASPECT OF ELECTRON. I am an IT engineer. fron Daysprings Int'l Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. And I want to say that rectifier in very important in the aspect of electron. according to what charles in the physics told us about electron, he said rectifier helps to make electron to grow very quickly, and by then the EMF is equal to the expences make when growing.
