Internal lining of concrete lined pipes-testing procedures
We have a internal lining job to be done for a seawater intake MS pipe line. The substrate is concrete i.e., the steel pipe is concrete lined up to 12 mm thickness. We are applying a coat of Epoxy cross linkd primer followed by 400 microns of coal tar epoxy. Please let me knwo how do we test the adhesion ,thickness etc during production and what are the quality parameters to be considered ?

Hi Nagendra,
You ask about the 'quality parameters'
WHAT quality ? ... if 3l6 stainless presents problems in salt water, then mild steel will fail VERY quickly.
I'm amazed, shocked that you'd even consider mild steel. Why not PVC or Pe? .... and HdPe pressure pipe is now available (over here) to 5 feet diameter ... or PVC fibreglass reinforced?
The ultra thin epoxy coating will protect the concrete well enough .. until it gets abraded away.
