Got MEK in my eyes

I got methyl ethyl ketone doused in my face and mouth I am suffering from headaches and vomiting eyes are hurting and I've seen a doctor. What I'm looking for is to find out the long term effect of this (if any).

As far as I am aware, there has been very little work done on the long term effects of MEK / methyl ethyl ketone (aka 2-butanone; CAS No 78-93-3). There is limited evidence to suggest it may have slight effects on the neurological system, the liver, kidneys and respiratory system. However, there seems to be insufficient data available to draw any firm conclusions.

One thing, however, is certain. Anyone handling solvents and other chemicals MUST wear the correct safety equipment. If they do not, they run the risk of major and extensive damage to themselves and possibly their offspring.

Hope you feel better soon.

I recently used MEK to clean some car parts and did not protect my hands. I now have a spinal cord infection that is unexplained and suffering from nerve sensitivity.
