6000 hours Salt Spray Test required
We are currently tendering for a project for suspended metal ceilings. There is a salt spray test for the duration of 6000 (!) hours required. The finishing of the metal (galvanised steel) ceiling panels is 'polyester stove enamelled' of 30 - 35 micron. It is my opinion that there is no way to succeed in such a test considering the duration. Is there any test result somewhere available, showing a 6000 hours duration? If yes, what finishing process was applied?

The only coatings on steel that I know of that can handle 6000 hours in salt spray are cadmium and IVD aluminum. To get to 6000 hours, the coatings need to be over 25 microns thick, they have to be bead blasted after coating, then subjected to a hexavalent chromate conversion coating to fill in the pores.
