RMS to emery equivalency (275 rms)

I have a customer requesting a 275 rms finish. Can anybody tell me what the approx. emery grit equivalency would be.

These parts are for mail sorting machines and he needs a gritted surface to get a better grip on the envelopes. He has been using a plasma spray system in the past but bond strength has been an issue.

WOW! Are you sure that this is an RMS spec? I'm not even sure that a metal file is that rough? Suggest you find out where your customer got this info. Sounds like what that use on aircraft carrier landing decks.
