I'm not sure what 'p.t.' means -- pretreatment?
There is very little ultimate difference in the capabilities of surfaces applied by spraying vs. immersion; it's mostly just a question of which is more practical for the items in question. But sprayed pretreatments and phosphating work much faster because of the impingement, the energy imparted, the freshness of solution actually touching the part, etc.
