Anodizing, salt spray results
Could you help me in distinguishing whether an appearing pit after salt spray test of a Al-alloy specimen is due to the process (anodizing, sealing) or to the raw material and its characteristics? (methods or procedure to find out)

Roubini.. Your question doesn't indicate what type of anodize (chromic, sulfuric?), nor do you state what alloy your anodizing (6061, 2024). If you have a sealing problem you usually see multiple failures. Process parameters need to be looked at also. What current density are you processing at for what length of time/thickness. Are you failing at early stages of your test cycle or later. (assuming 336 hours). If you can post more information perhaps we could lend more insight to your problem. Good Luck
