Boron instead of Cobalt as hardener in Sulfamate Nickel?

My plating shop uses a sulfamate-nickel plating solution for electroplating nickel. We are using a small amount of Cobalt sulfamate to achieve the desired hardness. This is working fine, but has any research been none on using a boron additive for greater hardness. Nickel alloys with boron such as dameron or culmanoy are very hard and I would like to know if this has been tried in electroplating to anyones knowledge.

Thanks

Yes I have seen a paper on it, maybe its in research labs but on production runs I conclude its still hearsay.

I think additive B available at Macdermid is boron based.

Boron is used in electroless nickel and has never been published as being co-deposited with electroplated nickel. Nickel Bromide (Bromine is a very different element from Boron) is the main component of Barrett Nickel Sulfamates's Additive B.
