How to spec a consistent looking finish
I have a machined aluminum plate 13.50" x 10.00" that calls for a 63A machined finish and then electroless Nickel plating. Three pieces came in from separate machine shops and they were all within spec but looked different. Is there a specification I can add to the drawing that would provide some consistency so that no matter who made them they would always look the same?
Thanks

You can make up sets of referee plates that the parts have to be visually equal or better than. A set of two for each company and a set of two for your company. Why not just eliminate the company who's parts look the worst. The remaining two should not be that far apart.
