Mirror finishing fishing reels before anodizing

2004

Hi,

I've started building Aluminum Fly Fishing Reel Seats from 6061 T6 and I know I'm going to have trouble getting the polished finish I need prior to anodizing. Can anyone give me some tips to getting these done with a mirror finish but take into consideration that I will not have machinery or such to help me achieve this.

Thanks,

The least labor-intensive way to accomplish this is to select an anodizer that offers bright dipping prior to the anodizing process. This will not remove scratches, and such, but if done properly will give you a very bright/shiny surface, and make your anodizing look great.
