RoHS compliant Mil-C-5541
Q. I need an equivalent to Chem Film per MIL-C-5541, class 3 (elect. conductive) that is RoHS compliant. Hexavalent chromium is not allowed. Can anybody help me?

A. At the time that you asked, there was no such thing, Jim, because Mil-C-5541 required hexavalent chromium. But recently released revision "F" permits qualified products that are hex-free. The NAVAIR-developed TCP process was licensed to four suppliers, and I believe that you will find all four on the QPL: Henkel, Luster-On, Metalast and Surtec.
