Achieving a Gray Color by Anodizing Titanium Parts
Q. I'm in the process of anodizing titanium parts and I need to achieve a dark grey finish (similar to charcoal) I'm not an anodizing expert and would greatly appreciate if any body who is, would guide me. I need to know the chemical composition, voltage and amperage required to obtain this finish. I'm doing this to help a friend who is in the biomedical industry and needs this type of finish for some parts.

Ed. note: Although this process is covered by specification AMS 2488, Carlos, the details of the process are closely held by a handful of companies who can do it. You may be better off locating a shop who can do it for your friend than trying to do it yourself for him.
