VCI packaging stains on aluminum

Dear sir ,

Have a good day We are manufacturers of Carburetor , MPFI , Secondary air valves and located at Chennai, India. We are using VCI packing for packing of Machined aluminium casting and we have identified black colour stain mark on the surface of those castings. pl give your opinion on the reason behind it and suggest a way to overcome. We are not getting any such black mark while we continue the packing with poly sheets.

The reason for your problem is the inappropriate grade of VCI Packing. The packaging supplier may be unaware of the type of packaging to be used for Aluminum and the chemicals from the VCI packaging may have reacted with Aluminum causing black stains.

Hello,
Is there any other option for VCI packing in exporting machined aluminium castings?

DEAR SIR,
THE PROBLEM YOU HAVE DESCRIBED IS NOT WITH USE OF VCI BAGS IT IS WITH IMPROPER SELECTION OF VCI MATERIAL FOR YOUR TYPE OF COMPONENTS. YOUR TYPE OF COMPONENTS WILL REQUIRE A NON FERROUS VCI BAG.
