Remove the gold electroplated finish from automotive trim
I recently bought a 1993 Acura Legend with the electroplated gold trim around the windows, grille, and on the insignias. However, it is fading in spots, revealing a silver/nickel finish. Is there a process by which to polish away the electroplated gold trim to reveal a more attractive and consistent silver/nickel finish? Would a fine tarnish remover and some elbow grease work?

Hallo,
Yes you can polish with polishing cloth with Peek polishing tube
⇦ this on
eBay or
Amazon [affil links] it'll remove gold plating and nickel will shine. If it won't then go to car store ask them for polishing things.
