Acid burns and discoloration of SS gutters on municipal pools
We have acid burns and severe oxidation on the stainless steel gutters of our pools. How can I repair or remove this and what should I protect the gutters with to prevent future oxidation?

What kind of acid burns are present makes a big difference in what you will have to do. If the steel is etched you will have to mechanically or chemically polish the surface to get back a good appearance. If the "burns" are not too severe you may be able to do it with a citric acid system that will clean and passivate the surface to help prevent this in the future. If you are using mineral acids on the surface you may always have a problem.
Call us if you would like us to take a look at it.
