Can zinc be used as a pipe for solar systems

I am building a Solar Power hot water, wind and heat system. I want to know if it's true that you are not to use a zinc; galvanized pipe system on these? Why? The heat causes a chemical reaction? Is it because it can't displace the temp of the metal? Also, what is the highest temp a zinc; galvanized pipe can withstand?

Thank you,

Dear Sir,

I think copper tubes (pipes) are likely to be used for solar heaters as it can absorb heat and copper is a good conductor. The exterior surface of these pipes are dull black colored to absorb maximum Solar Energy.
