Chromium replacement for printing plates?
We presently produce printing plates by the Nickel Electroforming Process. We add 1 mil of chrome to increase durability. Has any other material been developed to replace the chrome finish?

Dear Dave,
Yes, autocatalytic nickel of phosphorous type is appropriate substitute. Hardness and good distribution of am alloy is the reasons for switching from HCr t EN i.e., electroless nickel.
