PLATING ON BERYLLIUM

WE ARE HAVING AN ADHESION PROBLEM PLATING ON PURE BERYLLIUM WE ONLY HAVE 1 OR 2 PC JOBS OF SMALL PIECES WE ARE PRE-TREATING IT WITH A COUPLE OF MINUTES OF NITRIC ACID AND A DOUBLE ZINCATE WE ARE NOT HAVING ANY BLISTERING PROBLEM BUT WHEN WE TAPE TEST IT THE PLATING PEELS RIGHT OFF. AM I USING THE RIGHT PRE TREATMENT?

Ref book-beryllium etching in alkali or acid activation in 1%w/w H2SO4 for 15-30 seconds. For good adhesion heat treat in vacuum or argon.

Hope this may help, good luck.
