Staining of Zinc-Cobalt parts while machining
While machining a Cast Iron part plated with Zinc-Cobalt 20 micron thick coating, we face problem of discoloration. The machining is done using coolant with Ph in the range of 8.5 to 9.5 Could somebody suggest a remedy for this problem.

Dear Mr Saurabh,
This process cycle is not recommended. Cast iron will behave in this way. Are you sure that you can't machine the parts before plating? A lot of masking options exist in order to not damage yr machined surface during plating. Regards,
