Aluminum and ACQ pressure treated lumber
The specifications for pressure-treated lumber have changed. The new ACQ lumber has a high copper content and corrodes fasteners and aluminum that were protected formerly. We are starting to use ceramic coated fasteners. What kind of barrier can be used to protect the aluminum extrusions and aluminum coil from interaction with the ACQ lumber? Will wrapping the lumber with Tyvek or some other building wrap be sufficient?

David,
You mentioned 'ACQ' lumber ... now this is NOT a field that I'm involved in ... but over the years (when dealing with lumber spraying systems elimination) ... they started with PCP, then went to PQ8 and TCMTP ... and now maybe others due to the initial dangers with PCPs/
All I'm asking/inferring is that surely there are OTHER options than the pressure treated copper compounds that you could use... and, as mentioned, the ones I dealt with were using spraying systems not immersion types.
Maybe this might be of help, I dunno ...
