Sludge Dryer

I am looking for a specialized sludge dryer to reduce the moisture content of our recovered metal filter cake. The large dryer would need to process over two tons per hour of 50% moisture filter cake down to about 15% moisture. From my limited experience standard dryers do not have the fire-power to process this size volume. Also, I would like to get a dryer that can run as high as 800 to 900 degrees fahrenheit. I have seen "tube dryers" that I think might work for us. Can anyone recommend an Equipment Supplier or dryer design that might fit this criteria?

Jim: I too have seen what you are calling "tube dryers", but I think the real name is "rotary kilns". Refiners use them, and the temperature capability goes way beyond what we normally think of as a sludge dryer. I would caution that you make sure exactly what you are dealing with because you will be introducing the possibility of particulate emissions, burning of organics, perhaps even gassification of some metals--things we wouldn't normally associate with sludge drying.

Hi,

I would like to know what is the highest point of temperature of a sludge dryer? If the temperature is up to 300 degree Cel, could it still be called as dryer? Or it is an incinerator? Because water dries/turns to gas at 100 degree Cel.At 300 degree cel drying, what would be released? Any toxic gases, volatiles or what? Please help me!
