Aluminum and chlorine
I have a large piece of aluminum that has been rinsed with a 5% chlorine wash. What will be the effects of this wash? Will there be any damage besides possible discoloration?

If not properly rinsed, chloride residues can enhance corrosion cracking particularly if the aluminum has residual stress. Don Mattox
