Painting aluminum sheet metal
I am looking to start a business that involves yard art made out of aluminum. My question is how do I need to prepare the metal to hold paint as well as withstand the elements of the weather (cold, heat, rain, snow, etc.)? Is there a particular type of paint that needs to be used as a primer and also used to add color to each piece?
Thank you,

For the paint finish to adhere properly to aluminum you must first start with a good quality etching (acid) primer. These are availably through any local body shop supply store. They can be purchased in bulk (gallons or quarts) for use with a spray gun, or they are available as a spray can. Be aware that they are very pricey, but necessary to paint aluminum.
