Difficulty finding tinting ratios for '65 Mini Cooper

Hello,

I have an Australian 1965 Mini Cooper with original paint colors: Dusk blue body and Norburg White roof. I'm not sure where to start with this, so I am beginning by contacting some paint suppliers, and others knowledgeable on this subject in Australia. U.S. paint shops have no way of deciphering the paint codes and do not list these colors through the respective manufacturer (Dulon and Duco). I have only had luck with getting a visual match to obtain paint for my car, and when painting an area larger than a few square inches, the color difference is obvious. Can anyone direct me to someone, or be able to tell me the formula for these colors; as in how much of which pigments to add to the base lacquer? This is the only way I am going to successfully obtain the correct colors here in the States, as paint codes for these Australian colors are meaningless here.

The Dusk Blue color code is: 06644 The Norburg White codes (2 are listed) are: 05269 and 02191. Both are listed as being manufactured by Dulon and Duco. From what I have found, these colors were used in 1964 and '65 only on Morris Coopers.

Thanks for any assistance.

PPG has a color scanner that can formulate a color from an existing panel. Check with your local PPG autobody supply house to see if they have this tool "prophet II".

Good luck.
