Assuring Chrome Plate Integrity
I work for a company that is a tier 1 to DCX. I am the engineer responsible for a switch being launched in MY '05. The switch of interest has a chrome plated handle. This "chromed" handle has a cam feature which will create the tactile feel for the switch. The other interacting parts is plastic roller. I want to be sure that the chrome plating on the cam surface will not pre-maturely wear during the life of the switch. We have tested the switch and it passes three times life. How can I be assured that the integrity of the chrome is always going to be what I am receiving now? What test would you recommend I use to ensure this integrity (measure thickness, peel test, ?).
Any help would be appreciated,
