Electroless Ni-B
Hi everybody,
Could you please give me an idea on what the composition
(percentage wise) of a "regular" Ni-B electroless plating is.
Thanks a lot in advance,

Probably about 3-8 percent boron for borohydride baths, .2 to 4 percent boron for DMAB--balance nickel, Vladimir. But "regular" can be a dangerous word: if you ask for "a regular coffee" in New Jersey, you are telling the server that you want milk and 2 teaspoons of sugar in it :-)
Please tell us your situation. Thanks!

OK. Here is what I'm "hunting" for. Ni-B plating on a solderable surface. So it's Au over Ni-B over Cu.
Thanks,

A. For solderability, you want a DMAB reduced coating containing 0.2 to 0.5 percent boron. There are several that are commercially available from the metal finishing suppliers.
