MIL-T-10727 vs. ASTM B545

I would like to know what is the difference between MIL-T-10727 type I and ASTM B545 type I if there is any and where can I find the specs online.

Shun,

Mil-T-10727 was cancelled in February of 1997, and the cancellation notice directs users to ASTM B545. The text of Mil-T-10727 is still available online at ASSIST: surf to http://assist1.daps.dla.mil/quicksearch/ and type in the spec you want. ASTM specifications are copyrighted, and you get them from your local library or from ASTM

Unfortunately the ASSIST website does not permit access to MIL-T-10727.

I have to disagree with that, Dan. I went to the address that Lee suggested, typed 'Mil-T-10727' into the 'Document ID' field. It found the document, I double-clicked it, and saw Rev. B, Rev. C, and the cancellation notice available for download. Rev. C was the complete amended text, not just the revision. Try it again, and good luck!

American plating shops are taxed to make this service possible so all their offshore competitors can get Mil specs for free and be guaranteed a leg up on them -- so take advantage of it. I guess we need to raise taxes on American plating shop one more notch so another beltway bandit can receive a grant to travel the world training their offshore competitors on how to use this system :-)

I am trying to find a RoHS compliant plating to replace a Bright Blue Zinc Type-II Class-III. Is the MIL-T-10727 RoHS compliant. Any suggestion?
