Metal finishing process wastewater treatment regs
I am a director of sales & marketing for a scientific company that develops and manufactures water test strips for most metals. As I have been told by some metal finishing people, their waste water from their operations may need treatment prior to just flushing into the sewer system. Can you give me any information about the standards and regulations that the metal finishing industry needs to be aware of and concerned about in regards to this water treatment issue?

40CFR433, the EPA regs for metal finishing wastewater, is probably the best starting point, Mr. Marshall.

Another cite is 40CFR413, the electroplating point source category (PCB fabricators usually fall into this). Another point to be made: the local permit for your customers may have stricter limits.
