Touching up anodizing that is void of color

2004

Hi There,

My current problem is- when I get my Aluminum work back from the anodizer, there are areas (contact electrode points) on the work which are void of any color (Black) they really stand out, and it would be nice if someone had a chemical touch up product or recipe of mixtures of chemistry that will do the job, to hide these unfinished areas of the work...Artline pen ink just doesn't last that long...

Many Thanks For any input to resolve this problem cheers,

I think that you need to have a chat with your anodizer about the location of the contact points. Surely there is a less obvious place to make contact. This might cost you a higher labor cost of anodizing and possibly you might have to pay for the new "special" racks to be used only on your parts. If it is in a place that does not require anodizing, a "sharpie" pen by sanford works quite nicely. If it does require anodizing, then you definitely need to look for other rack locations. You can not get away from contact points, but sometimes the size can be reduced by sharper or more tapered contact points. No black is no anodizing!
