General information about zinc electroplating

2004

Hello, I want to ask you to give me information about zinc electroplating. Please if it possible give me technical information, reports, articles links or other stuff concerning zinc electroplating.

Thank you in advance!

Yours sincerely,

Hello, Mr. Borisov. There are hundreds of pages about zinc electroplating on this site alone, so little point referring you to other sites :-)

But you may need someone to organize what you need to know into a logical programmed structure with a training course or book. For training programs see NASF or Kushner Electroplating School. For books, see our list of "must have" books and our page of reviewed books.

Thanks for first letter. My question now is: Can you point me free sites, links, articles, reports, technical information about technological peculiarities through galvanizing with reversible current.

Thank you in advance!

Although the word 'galvanizing' has its root in 'electricity', in common usage today it exclusively means hot dip application of zinc, so reversible current would not be involved. The term 'electrogalvanizing' is sometimes used to refer to zinc electroplating. While reversing current and pulsed application of current are used in some types of electroplating, I have not personally heard of them being used in electrogalvanizing.

I certainly understand your wish to find references 'free' rather than getting the books I referred you to. But the people who create them must eat too, so substantive technical articles which take weeks or months of research are printed in copyrighted books, and journals & conference proceedings behind paywalls, and are not often found on free websites.

There are books about pulse plating available, as well as conference proceedings. Perhaps you have a national library or university library where you can access these materials? Good luck!
