Electroplating copper articles with either gold or silver

I want to have my some copper articles at my prayer room and some articles to adore the deity's idol. I have seen that many artisans with a small setup they do electroplating (Silver plating and Gold platings) with mere 12V DC. I want to try that at home at home. I want to know (i)what chemicals are used as electrolyte what should be its concentration? (ii) If I want to electroplate copper bengals with gold, how long I should run the process? This for hobby.

Thnk you so much.
