Hard Coating Process Information

2003

I am proprietor of an engineering company. I would like to know which type of metal are most compatible for Black Hard Coat Anodising? If possible, please suggest me the links from where I can know the whole process of Hard Coating (Black). We use forging (diecast) process to manufacture the product. How can we hard coat (anodise) this product?

I would be obliged if you can tell me where in India the materials for Hard Coating Process are available?

In general, the purer the aluminum the better it will anodize. That's because the silicon, zinc, copper, and other metals in the alloy cannot be anodized.

Two excellent sources of info are "Aluminum How-To" by Robert Probert and the classic two volume set Surface Finishing and Treatment of Aluminum and its Alloys by Wernick, Pinner & Sheasby.
