Many companies offer power supplies intended specifically for application in electroplating, Elba, and you can find several in our directory of Equipment. The place to start is to find a commercially available rectifier in the size you need. What size you need will depend on the size of the parts you are experimenting with.
We apologize that the site has gotten so busy that we are unable to post other than in English please.

In order to electroplate materials as a hobby the requirements of the PS are not big. The size of the PS will depend on the process and on the area to be plated. If you add some info (plating bath, materials to be plated, etc) I will try to help.
