Weld cleaning of stainless steel
I am 75 years of age, retired, and do small quantities of stainless steel welding basically as a hobby and deriving a small income. I wish to set up a small cleaning / polishing bath, I assume I need a DC supply, what voltage is recommended and what is the liquid solution required to create the electrolysis.

If you are talking about electropolishing, it really isn't quite as simple as buying an acid solution and applying a particular voltage, Kenneth. I suggest you take a look at the electropolishing chapter in either The Metal Finishing Guidebook or the Electroplating Engineering Handbook ⇦ this on eBay, AbeBooks, or Amazon [affil links] . But maybe you're seeking pickling paste?
